It’s finally here the event that happens once a year. Yes it’s yet again time for the attack breaks. Love them or loathe them theres one thing thats clear, there is no escaping the madness that they bring this time of year. If, like myself you kinda forgot about the atack breaks then your troops would have had a nice Christmas dinner elsewhere and you would have received a message like this:
After a comfortable Christmas with excellent food they made their way back home again.
Merry Christmas to all players!
Or like many people out there you will have had tons of these reports and are feeling pretty silly. Well with this blog there will be a poll, on the external forums to see how many people actually benefit from the break.
Now, I have searched far and wide for people to interview and stumbled accross W22′s finest, wwyandt.
Ultimatum X: Your rank one in W22, how hard has it been to reach the top?
wwyandt: Reaching the top wasn’t all that hard, but did take a lot of time and effort. In one respect it was helped by close friends quitting nearby me, but in the same respect, I no longer have those friends to help support and work ops with. It is probably harder to stay on top with Point Whores threatening to top my points by overbuilding and taking barbs. I took plenty of barbs and inactives in the past and no doubt it helped me reach #1, but at this point in the game, I try to stick to taking mostly enemy and active villages.
I also have to credit my mentors when I started this game. I was a TW virgin when I started W22 and LizAshley taught me how to attack and move forward. Ruud60 was also a close friend and taught me much about this game.
Ultimatum X: Do you think this new $CoD$ regime is going to cause new problems to XXXX?
wwyandt: The new $COD$ regime appears to be more skilled than those of the past, however, they have a lot less to work with than they did previously. Many of their bigger players have quit or split off to other tribes, so their support reserves are greatly reduced.
I really don’t think they will pose any new problems to XXXX. They still have many skilled players that will continue to play tough. I think it remains to be seen what strategy their new regime follows. It will be a matter of adapting our strategy as theirs presents itself.
Ultimatum X: You have taken a total of 243 villages from $CoD$ and lost only 17. What is the key to your success?
wwyandt: Well even that stat is somewhat deceiving. I think if you look closer, you will see that I have recapped most of those villages lost. Either way, it has always been a hard thing for me to do letting a village go. I may not get it back right away, but I have a long memory and try to get them back somewhere down the road. One of the keys to my success is being tenacious and having a lot of friends in game that have helped me out along the way. (Many of those friends are not also not in XXXX) A bit of luck and skill also doesn’t hurt.
Ultimatum X: What do you think about the current situation of the world?
wwyandt: This is my first world, so I am not sure how other worlds compare at this stage, but probably the largest dynamic affecting the game is large players quitting. At times it can get boring fighting in long drawn out wars and unless you keep moving toward the war fronts, it is easy for players to sit in safe K’s and just noble barbs and inactives. Although these players grow and move up the points ladder, it does nothing to advance their tribe or their war effort. In a way, they have painted themselves into a corner and they become impotent because the only thing left for them to do is noble from long distance and boredom sets in to the point that they end up quitting due to boredom.
Ultimatum X: What do you predict will happen with the world?
wwyandt: I believe that it is impossible to predict what the future holds for W22. Changes in tribe leadership, players quitting and war strategies can all change in an instant, tribes can merge or break up and any one of those changes can have a major impact on the world map.
Ultimatum X: What was your favourite point/part of W22?
wwyandt: I’m not sure I would use the word “was” in this question. W22 is still very much alive from my standpoint and I still look forward to a good fight or battle. I have many fond memories of certain players, specific battles and am just recently getting to know more players outside of my tribe through skype chats and such. Because of this, playing TW has become more of a social outlet then when I first started playing the game. I enjoy playing against other players as enemies, all the while chatting with them as friends and getting to know them as people and friends and not just as a in-game name.
My favorite point/part of W22 continues to evolve, as W22 continues to evolve.
Thank you wwyandt, interesting replies there.
It’s time to finish this weeks blog,
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a brilliant new year.
