The Reign of NMS

Hi again! So this week is going to be about NMS, the top tribe of the world, the ruler of the core and the longest lasting top tribe we have seen for this world. NMS started on July 8^th 2009, one day after world 40 opened. They quickly made their way to the top in the world and since then have continued their reign as the number one tribe. How have they had this long term success? What makes this tribe different from others that have come and gone? The leadership? Good diplomacy? Or is it just the members?

Where it all began?

As stated above NMS was created July 8^th 2009. The current leaders (and many members) were not in the tribe when it started. They were in a tribe called Omega that no longer exists, before moving into Kata and then lastly joining NMS as their tribe to call home. Want to know a bit more about NMS from mcastillo710′s point of view, you will just have to keep on reading for the interview to find out.

NMS has been the core of the world and too this day they still are. Below is the most recent map from nickjer showing the tribal dominance for the top tribes:

As you can see NMS have dominance in roughly 16 of the continents and they all branch out from the core. There are worlds where the rim tribes are winning the world and other worlds where the core tribe has the dominance, similar to world 40. Who will be the one to win this world; it is still undecided no telling yet what may happen as there is still a long way to go.

War Statistics

NMS is fighting a few wars right now and still holding their own. The current major wars for them are with -WM-, Rum!!, and UN W40. Below are the stats for all 3 over the past week:

Side 1: Tribes: NMS Side 2: Tribes: -WM- Timeframe: Last week Total conquers against opposite side: Side 1: 16 Side 2: 29 Difference: 13 Points value of total conquers against opposite side: Side 1: 132,642 Side 2: 241,683 Difference: 109,041 So right now -WM- has the upper hand on NMS but it isn’t a large gap. -WM- has become a contender for the world recently and is in the top 10 currently and have actually gained another rank down to 8 now from rank 9 a week back.

Timeframe: Last week Total conquers against opposite side: Side 1: 126 Side 2: 9 Difference: 117 Points value of total conquers against opposite side: Side 1: 1,130,476 Side 2: 85,430 Difference: 1,045,046 So as you can see NMS has a lot more focus on Rum!! than they do on -WM- and it is quite obvious that they are creating some problems for Rum!!. Between the failed merge with -WM- and the heavy losses from fighting NMS, Rum!! have shrank from rank 4 with approximately 75 million points down to rank 6 with approximately 58 million points in the past month.

For now it looks like NMS is doing well on all fronts but -Wm- but that looks more like minor skirmishes than full scale war.

So from the statistics and the map it looks like NMS is more focused on the western border with Rum!! and the eastern border with the UN family than fighting -WM-. I think it is mostly because NMS has had problems with Rum!! and the UN Family for a long time and they are just tired of it, so they are taking care of them. If the trend continues with NMS going west and east we may see them dominating a very large portion of the map soon. Things could change any day though but as of this moment NMS is fighting hard and strong.

Unfortunately I was unable to interview one of the leaders of NMS, but mcastillo710 was a great candidate for NMS and I am glad I got a chance to interview him.

Destruction Follows:Thanks for agreeing to interview for the blog. You are in NMS correct? mcastillo710: Yes, I have been in NMS for some time now. When I joined this world it took me some time to find a tribe that I can settle in with. All the tribes that I’ve joined always ended up disbanding. So many people were calling me a tribe hopper, I just wanted to continue playing the game. Destruction Follows:I get what you mean sometimes it is just hard to find a tribe you want to stick with, but once you do you love it. How do you feel about the tribe? Whats your favorite part? mcastillo710: NMS saved my butt when I joined them and for that I’m very grateful. Knowing this is just a game I will die defending NMS, in game that is, not real life lol. Destruction Follows:You sound like a very loyal member. What direction do you think NMS is heading? mcastillo710: As everyone can see NMS is a core tribe, we got all kinds of directions to go. Being a soldier in this tribe I do what I’m told. NMS direction so far is heading the right way, and only the leaders know where that is. Destruction Follows:Yes core tribes can only expand outwards really. Why do you think you remain one of the top players in ODT? mcastillo710: I’m a very active player and being in the front line sure helps out alot. Gaining OD happens only one way, by killing troops. A lot of people in this game call me a noob and I really don’t care what they have to say. Fact is I’m #1 in ODA I’ve killed more troops then anyone in this world. Call me a noob I don’t care, I’m alway learning things anyways. Remember everyone of us was a noob at one point in time. Destruction Follows:Very true, I have yet to see a way to get OD without killing troops lol. I remember being a noob was definitely fun learning though. Does it ever get tiring constantly being attacked? mcastillo710: No, I enjoy it. But being constantly attacked is in the past now. I’m more on the offense now it’s better that way. Don’t get me wrong I need some incoming, my ODD points have be on a stand still but my ODA is keeping me on top. Destruction Follows:hehe thats fun attacking rather than being attacked. I get what you mean though about wanting incomings, sometimes it is just nice to have somebody send you some troop love. Who do you think is the biggest competition for NMS in the world? mcastillo710: I believe the biggest competition for NMS is us, the players in NMS. Leading a group of very aggressive and talented players is not easy. My hat goes off for our council, they work very hard to keep NMS running. Destruction Follows:Very interesting, why do you think NMS remains on the top? mcastillo710: NMS is just a name the players are what keep NMS name alive. This game is like a job we’re all excellent workers. As long as everyone does there part we’ll always remain on top. Destruction Follows:Very true, the members are what make a tribe survive along with the leaders. Are some members in NMS struggling to stay active at this point? mcastillo710: All tribes have there inactive players. Do I see a difference between our tribes and others, yes they have more inactives then we do. Just look at our tribal file there is only a few player maybe 3 that have not gained any ground. Are you playing any other worlds currently? mcastillo710: No, and there is no way I can handle another world this world is a handful. Destruction Follows:haha I bet it is. First, congrats again for writting a well balanced, interesting blog. As far as I know you’re relatively new to this world, but you have researched well.

Allow me to add some data to NMS history…

As you mentioned well, NMS started in the core and keep growing from the core. A handful of players from W9, some returned from TW retirement, as W40 famous Lazarus and myself, joined a premade called Omega, located in K54 and North from K64 mainly. The name of Chuckiie was also amongst those players, and might be known to W40 senior players. After a short live, Omega merged into Kata, the original. That tribe, located in the borders of K54, was lead by the four horsemen: .Death. – .Pestilence. – .Death. – .Famine. , all players from W23, as Core himself, who played in this world under other name initially, before bringing Kata back to live.

Soon, the figure of Laz appeared as the leading force inside Kata. Nevertheless he wanted to just be a player, leadership is inside him, and was just natural that he became Kata’s duke. Kata was in war with NMS, for the dominance from K54. It was a pretty even war, so much that was evident that the winning tribe would have huge losses and probably would be in a bad position to fight other core tribes, specially SQUAD (K44 dominant tribe at that time) was lurking… waiting to jump on the surviving tribe in K54. Laz, aware of the situation then negotiated the merging of Kata into NMS, and after some weeks, Laz was made NMS duke, as all who knew him had expected. Since then the we have grown through wars and mergers. Fighting tribes as SQUAD, NIR, PA, TN, iAlone and recently RUM!!! and UN. Our current members came from SID, LOST, KA, PARAS, TN, WASP, TOG, TC, CB. Some have critized us because we have had several tribes merging into us during our history, but there´s a reality in this game… the biggest destroyer in this world in inactivity… RL happens….work, study, love, economy, all plays against TW. And our spots have to be filled, not with any player, but with the crop, many of them with players previously tested through fire and steel. But we don’t live from mergers as our detractors say, we live from fighting, our stats support it. There’s a strong, steady council based on a great group of players, loyal to the tribe. Our council exists to serve, not to be served.

Destruction made a good analysis from our current wars and our focus. We’re here to grow, fight and have fun. Also great words from Mcast, he’s evidence of the high quality from our players.

Nice blog and interview Aaron but you interview part kinda messed up or is it me. Well said mccastillo .. It’s very important to enjoy this game in order to survive.

You don’t need any defensive skill when your attacked by 15 noobs at one time. That said alot about your offensive skills. Who are you LOL? That way i can show everyone you stat between you and I.
