Player of the Week: Omfsmthefsm

Klouwe: Hello omfsmthefsm! You won the special challenge of the blog, so you won an interview. Please introduce yourself to W11 (and the other readers of the blog).

Omfsmthesfm: My name is Ben, I’m 17 as of January 9th. I started playing w11 (my first world) around December two years ago. I’ve always been in the tribes that merged together to eventually form Attero, so naturally I only have one perspective from W11 :p I’m the unofficial leader of Attero as all members and loyal to me and Aristice and Trauber run with their tails between their legs when they hear my name. In reality, I am on the council, so I share power with all the other members on the council (which is the leadership of Attero, the dukes just enact what is said there.)

Klouwe: cydrych [ATTERO] was the first to noble a RASP-village since the declaration. It took his nobles only 16 minutes to take the first village in this long war. So I checked more about ATTERO vs RASP stats and saw 24 noblings and 8 losses in the last 24 hours before the declaration of RASP. So there were already for a while struggles between ATTERO-RASP? And if RASP didn’t declare on ATTERO, then would ATTERO have declared on RASP?

Omfsmthefsm: It wasn’t really a struggle, it was more of taking what we were promised. RASP recruited a bunch of Pal and =NN= members (which ticked us off a little, but we really put no complaint to the members who were recruited far from our borders) and we were promised villages as compensation. The deal was that we would take 100 ARSIN vills (ARSIN was what annoyed us the most as he was RIGHT on our border and was under constant attack) and we would release all refugee claims. After a period longer than a month we received nothing so we re-initiated the attacks on ARSIN (officially on all PAL runners.) When ARSIN started taunting us in the low walls forum (shared with RASP) we went all out and started to noble him. So we were not really planning on warring RASP, despite members encouraging it, we just wanted SOME action.

Klouwe: So fights for RASPs eastern and southern flank was almost inevitable. But their northern-western flank was still napped/allied. Why do you think RASP declared instantly on the whole world making them extra vulnerable?

Omfsmthefsm: As far as I know, ZIP was also having problems with RASP. And I think RASP overestimated what they could do- dealing with a bunch of tribes without war experience (Raven, CQB) is different than taking on a bunch of war vets with more total villages than you and I think they didn’t anticipate what they were going to get, as evidenced by members deleting or leaving the tribe.

Klouwe: Enough about the war. Where does the name ATTERO come from and why this name?

Omfsmthefsm: Attero is the Latin word for destroy. Originally there were four Attero tribes, ~AC~ -AC- -AA- -AD-. Each had their own meaning (Destroy chaos, kings, anarchy and something (possibly destroy effort, I’m not sure)). So we merged the best players together to simply get ATTERO

Klouwe:  What is your favorite aspect of TribalWars and the most hilarious tw-related moment of 2009?

Omfsmthefsm: Pretty much anything by Headvoid is awesome. I also like the strategy as opposed to just straight out attacking. Makes things a little more fun and complicated :p I also loved seeing Adam Tucker run rampant for a couple of months (“adam tucker sad to see it. MCD is number 7, can’t help but feel bad, it was all my falt”) <Favorite quote by him. There haven’t been many politically related funnies… I just like the excuses all the tribes make for their shortcomings =D

Klouwe: If you could change something about TW, what would it be and why?

Omfsmthefsm: More active players. The world would be so much more fun if people nobled each other and not just barbarians and inactive tribe mates.

Klouwe: Thanks for this interview! Keep giving entries for the challenge and good luck in the war!

Omfsmthefsm: Not a problem. Looking forward to being published in all my glory!

World 19 News and Update!

Hello w19. Finally, an update!  I’d like to thank everyone for their patience…I’ve been pretty busy over the holidays.  But now that the holidays are past, things seem to be picking up a bit around w19.  Our forum mod, asalamalakum, is leaving us for a couple months, so let’s all give him a proper send off to his new adventure!

Now, down to business.  First, a quick look at the maps:

There’s been some shuffling and reorganization in both the northeast and northwest, but nothing that’s changing the map in a *huge* way.  The current power rankings, however, are a little more interesting…

Power Rankings

Major Powers (10+%)

ASYLUM 340.163.326 11.01%

Mid-sized Powers (3-9%)

BRAINS F. 264.092.707    8.42%

PANDAS 228.140.519    7.40%

VIRTUS 207.331.604    6.51%

Bonded 195.720.494    6.27%

~UWA~ 176.607.272    5.70%

CANDY 167.525.453    5.44%

UNSF 147.879.722    4.68%

ORIGIN 141.498.778    4.50%

XLR 127.546.326    4.17%

Minor Powers (1-3%)

NIR 107.925.962    3.49%

Just 107.183.036    3.32%

-=CB=- 99.368.554      3.18%

All* 93.474.390      2.99%

WDW 92.202.884      2.99%

~EP~ 67.294.523      2.21%

Magyar 51.946.147 1.66%

cC 42.555.671      1.36%

~TA~ 32.522.395      1.08%

So, looking at these numbers are a little interesting.  With the Virtus (OFA)/Origin split, Virtus has moved into the mid-sized power range.  Asylum has grown enough to comfortably move into the major power range.  Arse and CB have declined in numbers, while we have the more recently formed tribes Just, All*, and ~TA~ on the scales.

Weekly Interview

This week we have a double interview of sorts.  This week’s featured interviewees are DrSneider and Chaos667, the co-dukes of the recently reformed All Stars tribe.  So here it is…

Introduce yourselves and All* to w19 =)

DrS: Hi, I am Denis, an 19 year old original owner of DrSneider account, you might remember me from worlds such as world 4, 10, or 12. I live in Slovenia, in a small country of endless green and beauty.  Besides playing online games, I really like to listen to music. I am open-minded listener =) Oh and I go to college as well.

Chaos: My real name is Rainer, I am 22, and I live in South Africa, Cape Town the mother City.  I enjoy sport cricket, Rugby, Football (you know, the real kind that does not have padding) and squash. I love my music, anything from old school 60s rock to In Flames (Google them). I enjoy motor racing, F1 ftw!!! I also spend regular weekends at the races watching the local racing. I also enjoy a good night of poker and smoking cigars.

How long have you (guys) been playing TW?

DrS: For way too long. I, myself, am playing Tribal Wars for 3 years now… I sometimes could call this game a Trouble Wars, simply can’t quit, because I always want to attack someone =D

Chaos: I’ve been playing TW for more or less 2 years. My first world was W19, since then I’ve tried my hand at many other worlds, but I can’t seem to get away from W19.

Who originally formed All*; Are they still playing? (if applicable)

DrS: Mainly we were made out of a tribe, called NEWBIE, my very first tribe on world 19, which was disbanded after seeing that activity dropped. But I gave western former NEWBIE players another chance to try again, so we established All*. So I think it’s only right to say, we all did create it, and pushed it as far as we could and how we were let to play in world 19 for our first time.  Yes, some of them are still kicking in this world, and I am very glad that I can still see them there. I only hope, we stay together in many numbers in this world for long time.

Chaos: DrSneider formed the first All*, DrSneider then decided to make a small tribe with the K35 members of NEWBIE.

I think a lot of people have some idea of why All* disbanded, but I don’t (and there must be others who don’t), and it would be better to hear it in your words anyway…

DrS: There are two sides of this story. One story is originally from -D- themselves. If I remember correctly, we made two mistakes, why they left All*. First mistake was, leadership went inactive. Second mistake was, that we kicked matt- out from All*, and the rest of the -D- crew followed him, to world 19 biggest family tribe creation, called -D- family or Empire of the NE.

Chaos: Personally I believe it was due to some bad recruitment of our part, and due to this bad recruitment things went down hill. We recruited a lot of ex -D- members, who turned out to not be loyal to the tribe. And then simply put we were back stabbed.  -D- was reformed and they convinced 2 other tribes to gangbang us. With no light at the end of the tunnel for us, we disbanded All* and joined XLR.

The obvious follow-up to that is of course, why has All* reformed?

DrS: Hm, very interesting question. All* was reformed, mainly because of Chaos’s desire. But I had also some other plans in my mind, when I left XLR to create All* with Chaos. I completed my wish, and I am really satisfied at this moment. My wish was to put back together all All* members into one tribe. Unfortunately, some of members are still in XLR, but I know why, and I still find them as our brothers.

Chaos: When DrSneider started All* the first time he made a public statement that we will be a top 15 tribe with 13 members, his confidence in the tribe and the members made me believe that we could do it, and now we have. For me the reforming of All* is a totally emotional choice, All* has and always will be my tribe. I think I can say this for both myself and DrSneider that deep down we have always been All*.

What is your favorite aspect of TribalWars?

DrS: I guess catting opponents’ buildings, to annoy them even more than nobling their villages. So overall, I like attacking most in this world of Tribal Wars. But I think closest to this is also communicating with my friends over skype. A really handy tool for keeping you even more addicted to Tribal Wars then game itself =D

Chaos: Catting the hell out of someone, nothing brings a smile to my face like 6 pages of reports where your enemy is losing 16 levels of his farm per attack =D Oh and the endless random people I have met playing this game.

What other worlds do you play and how would you compare them to w19?

DrS: Besides playing world 19, I play Slovenian server “Svet1” as well. The main reason I am playing there, is because my RL friends are playing there too. Unfortunately, Slovenian server is still far below the TW.net excitement. As for World 19, it is by far the best world I played. Even if I played in several worlds, world 19 is my favorite one. Close to it goes world 4 which was my second favorite world, where it all began. World 19 has few things that other worlds do not, and that is very good settings and small tribes.

Chaos: I have played ALOT of worlds…W16, W17, W26, W32, W34, W36, W39, W43 and W45. I have to say that the only world that compares to W19 is W43 where the settings are very similar and the friends I’m playing with are great.

If you could change something about TW, what would it be and why?

DrS: More girls, because we need them =D

Chaos: No morale in all worlds, nothing annoys me more than some lazy player that grows his village to 9k by the time I have 200K and then I have to waste tons of nukes just to noble him.

Describe your tribe’s style/your playing style/how you like to play.

DrS: Well, I definitely like to help my tribe members and allies. I believe my greatest card is to play offensively and that way support them in attacking. Personally, I am enjoying attacking and catting, where I believe you can destroy opponent faster than with nobles only. So when they ask me for defense, I simply reply to them, where shall I nuke? Our tribe style is simple–having fun no matter how. Team spirit, communication and fun are most important in achieving success. So yeah, CATS AWAY! =D

Chaos: Well the new All* tribe is still finding its feet as a tribe, we will know for sure what our style is after our first war. But with DrSneider and me leading I’m pretty sure it will be aggressive.  As for my style, it varies, I have a very mixed way of playing, but early on I’m very aggressive, going 100% offense in the first 5-10 villages, then depending on what the tribe needs I adapt my style of playing to best help the tribe.

Who came up with the shoe Coat of Arms idea/tribe name? Where did the idea come from?

DrS: To be honest, it was quite spontaneous. I was looking for Coat of Arms for our new tribe, then suddenly, I saw Croco All* shoe, and put it on our profile. And since everyone liked it, it stayed as our new symbol. Oh, we also added a hat on our Shoe, you can’t get better than that, can you?

Chaos: Well the shoe is from DrSneider’s addiction to Google (I’m worried about him). As to the All Stars go RAWR!!!! It was one of those random moments that DrSneider and I have while chatting, we find something funny so I added it into the way the tribe looks.

Freebie — Say anything else you want comments/questions/suggestions/bulletins =)

DrS: Remember, it’s just a game, meant to be played for fun. All* Bible is under construction. All* Nom Nom Shoes are off limits.

Chaos: (Watch this space for something epic from All*).

Question of the Week

Last Question: What is your favorite unit and why?

Featured Answers:

“teh catapults. need there be an explanation? nobles are a thing of the past. wanna make a player tremble? which of the “fake” attacks will make your buildings go *crunch!* ?”

Answer submitted by King Muffin

“My favorite unit in the game is the light cavalry unit. I like it for several reasons. The light cavalry unit is a speedy one, and speed is particularly useful in tight situations and when you are beginning a new world. It can haul a good load as well for a farm run in a new world. Also, you can use light cavalry to snipe noble trains when you must, as they have an adequate level of defense (although I do not recommend that they be used for normal defense unless necessary ) They also build relatively quickly for being so useful, only about four minutes and some seconds with a fully built stable. These are the main reasons for my liking of the light cavalry unit.”

Answer submitted by One with Cat in Pants

This Week’s Question:

What are your predictions for w19? Where do you see our world in 6 months? (You can answer this for yourself, your tribe, or the world on a broader level)

Well that about wraps it up for this week folks! As always, I welcome your feedback, suggestions, and encourage discussion on the w19 blog thread on the forums. Till next time!

The Union is doing a bit better than RASP. Last week they’ve nobled roughly 100 villages more than RASP nobled from The Union.

Now the stats of the individual tribes:

Forever:

ZIP is leading the overall ranking! But also ATTERO, jotad and LoD have done a great job. RASP has been doing very well against SFV, Legend and }D~A{.

  • ZIP: 114
  • ATTERO: 52
  • LoD: 50
  • OZ: 0
  • jotad: -5
  • SFV: -10
  • }D~A{: -18
  • Legend: -85

Nobling Achievements

I’ll clarify the updates in the World War with the Conquer Map. All the blue dots on the map are conquers for The Union (ATTERO, LoD, ZIP, SFV, OZ, jotad, Legend, }D~A{) on RASP ({RASP} and W.C.). All the red dots are conquers for RASP on The Union. Only noblings of last month against opposite side are plotted.

Many noblings are located several continents away from the real frontline. So although it’s possible to see RASPs area, it’s obvious that the frontlines are still being shaped. The first stadium of the war already caused 3 changes in continental dominance:

  • K06: RASP overtook dominance from The Union cause }D~A{ couldn’t hold n°1 spot in K06
  • K62: The Union overtook dominance from RASP, now ZIP holds n°1 spot in K62
  • K63: The Union overtook dominance from RASP, now LoD holds n°1 spot in K63

Top Netto Nobler

In this ranking the personal noblings on the enemy are counted (since the declaration up to  7th Jan 18h00). So for RASP players all noblings against The Union count. For The Union players all noblings against RASP counts. Only the players with 30 noblings against his opposite side are listed. Congrats xillin with your current n°1 spot in this ranking!

1 ) xillin [{RASP}] 102 noblings

Results of December

In this small article I would like to point out the major changes in points during December. Only Major and Mid-sized Powers are included in the sexy graphs. In the first picture you can see the growth of all these tribes. In the second picture you can see the relative growth of all these tribes. And finally the third picture represents a yummy pie chart of the change of power of these tribes during December. Since the declaration of {RASP} on the whole world, {RASP} has kicked much dead weight causing terrible results for December. But you can also see that in the second half of December the points are stagnating. So most likely this will result again into a steady growth of {RASP} during January. In the relative growth graph you can see that only 2 tribes had a decent growth: ATTERO and ZIP.

World 9 Blog: Entering the New Year

World 9 Blog No. 10

This week, we are featuring music from the composer Harry Gregson-Williams from the movie ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian’ to finish off with our ‘Sounds of Great Fantasies’ series (blogs 1-10). Now, we move on into the waters of the unknown in our next series of blogs, volume 2, which will begin production and release in 2010! This current blog is not the end, nor the begining. It is a good example of how far the blogs have come, as well as how far our world has come. Since I took up to making these blogs last winter, there have been many great wars, mighty players, and glorious empires that have risen… and fallen.

I would also like to take this time to wish everyone a happy New Years’ and I hope everyone who had Christmas had a great one and everyone who didn’t had a wonderful day. 0

World 7: Finally, some Changes!

Fist of all, I APOLOGIZE FOR THE HUGE DELAY IN UPDATES! Here is a nice recent map for you all:

map 12_15

(the black and pink tribes can be ignored… they will either go barb or merge into other tribes)

Now, down to business…

We have some tribe shake-ups for the first time in well over 6 months here in world 7.  A chunk equaling what was initially nearly half of PTT’s tribal body split off under pressure of war to bring back the extinct VF tribe from the grave, far away from the -WE- warfront.  They initially tried to secure an official NAP with their (former?) enemy -WE- but were refused such an official agreement.  As it stands currently, the bulk of their tribe is far enough away from the -WE- front that FxF will remain their only real battle partner for a while.  During VF’s first month of existence their overall impact on the world has been slim to none, though, as the following stats indicate:

Total conquers against opposite side in the mini-VF wars:
Side 1 (VF): 0
Side 2 (-WE-): 31
Difference: 31

Side 1 (VF): 89
Side 2 (FxF): 155
Difference: 66

This split was performed largely in order for this “active” section of PTT players to break off from the -WE- war in order to win the war vs. FxF, who they deem to be their only real/main enemy in this world. Unfortunately, FxF has not been crumbling to the newly reformed VF, and seem to be slightly winning–and also winning against the remaining PTT tribe, might I add (70 to 1 this month).

On the plus side for the main PTT crew that didn’t run away from the fight, they did experience a nice successful ennoblement spree on a -WE- frontline account since the last blog update.  This was a long time ago now, but it should be noted that PTT ripped up 2krazykills of -WE-, taking over 200 villages from him while he was AWOL and sitterless over a 2 week period. -WE- *finally* got control of the situation though, and during that month, the -WE- vs. PTT war was pretty even in terms of war ennoblements.  That period is one which -WE- refers to as “The Dark Ages,” and what PTT now remembers as “The Glory Days.”

But now all seems to be back to normal: PTT’s latest operations have all failed, and -WE- has been gaining ground in several regions–from k55 & 65 all the way into k66,77, and elsewhere. The most noteable major takedowns were Mario2007, a formerly esteemed PTT pr0, who was all but rimmed from k55 (over 200 vills lost) and the long-time PTT duke Irispeace, whom -WE- absolutely rocked.  All her villages from frontline k65 to backline k66 & 77 are falling at the hands of -WE- ennoblers.  This operation is young and still ongoing, but already nearly 400 villages have been taken from her, with minimal takeback efforts by the remnants of PTT.

On a side note, TATEC seems to STILL be alive and kicking. In the wake of the destruction that has been wrought on PTT, TATEC picked up a few new refugee recruits and now appear to be the most active group of the original PTT alliance.  Despite this, their ennoblement stats vs. -WE- this month are less than impressive:

Total conquers against opposite side:
Side 1 (TATEC): 63
Side 2 (-WE-): 293
Difference: 230

In summation, I cannot resist posting these overall stats from the past 3 months:

World 19 News and Update!

W19BlogBanner

Greetings w19ers!  It’s getting close to the end of the year, and fun things like holiday time with the family and attack breaks are coming up around the corner!  Things have been a little bit on the quiet side in the w19 community, but we should have a nice update for this week.  On with it then.

Blog Banner Contest Winner Announced!

In spite of my begging, only one of you lazy louts have submitted a blog banner.  So our dear Mark-CFC wins the prize (see his banner featured above)!  Boo on you w19 for not giving Mark any healthy competition!

This Week’s Interview

This week we have an interview with Graand, diplomat of ORIGIN, the recently formed tribe in the NW area of w19.

Q: Hi Graand. Coming from the eastern half of w19, I have to admit I don’t really know who you are. So introduce yourself to everyone =)
A: Well, my name is Graham, I am 42, married with teenage children and live in Australia, I love all strategic based games (whether it be online or not) and I have been playing this game for around 2.5 years now starting in W5 and have played most worlds.

Q: Have you played or are you playing any other worlds? How would you compare them to w19?
A: W19 is my main world as I gave up most of the others as my online times reduced and I did join w42 but am thinking of leaving, as I only play there because of some friends from W11 and 14 are in the same tribe. W19 is clearly my dominant World ever and will continue to be until I am rimmed and once that happens…I will start again, lol.

Q: How did you get into a leadership role in your tribe?
A: I have been everything in a tribe from S***kicker to Duke and once I display the skills I have gathered over my time here, it is clear I know what I’m doing regarding tribe structure and day to day runnings.

Q: Tell us the scoop on Origins…why have you and the other members of Origins split from OFA/AFO?
A: Well sadly enough our true leader returned to claim his rightful place in the tribe (OFA) and there were a few there that didn’t want it that way….so ORIGIN was formed, which is actually (mostly) the Original members that helped form OFA.

Q: Did you leave on friendly terms?
A: Some have asked “why” but most understand the change and we are still talking to this day. People realize it is just a game and that individual choice should be made without ill feelings, resentment or persecution.

Q: With this split, the map in the NW quadrant of the world looks a bit messy. What are your thoughts on this?

A: LOL, sorry but it was reasonably messy anyway, just all a nice shade of blue/light blue, funny thing about this game is activity….telling who is actually still playing the game and who is not, depends on the way an account is sat (sorry for the off topic).

Q: Are you retaining OFA relations with ARSE, or are you separating Origins diplomatically as well?
A: One thing I would like to say is, ORIGIN will NOT have any family “connections”, we aim to be a tribe of 40 actives and feel we will be so soon, any diplomacy with this “new” tribe will be strictly of our choosing. Any allies (or enemies) of OFA – AFO, will not necessarily be ours.

Q: Was the formation of Origins a planned move or a more spur-of-the-moment decision?
A: Definitely a spur of the moment thing, as we hoped for a calm solution to our internal problems, but alas….didn’t come.

Q: What is your favorite aspect of TW? Least favorite?
A: Favorite aspect: is definitely the people I have met (and get to meet) as without them, it would just be a ps3 game and (of course) I love the strategic side of the game.
Least fav: is the childish behavior some people have towards others, because they didn’t get their own way, or had a bad day at school/work etc… solution: don’t come online and give someone S*** ring your ex and give them grief instead, or your boss, even the prime minister?

Q: Any other comments in general?
A: I would love to see this game go “to the next level” and get some serious “fighting” animation going, would enhance the game incredibly if you could see your troops fighting rather than waiting for the time to count down (to an attack) and then open a report? I would also like to say thank you for you allowing me to express myself to the TW community.

Question of the Week

Last week’s question: What is your worst noobish screwup?

Featured Answer:

“I was once asked to sit an account on some long forgotten world, when a friend who had started late was nobling his first village on the rim. He had 3 nobles and he’d already lowered the loyalty of the village enough that the 3 would take it on the next run, but he couldn’t be online to send them. Now, he asked me to do it, which I was happy to do, and to time his nuke in front of it as he thought the guy was gonna get support from his tribe. When the time came, I sent the nobles out, and then waiting the 30 mins or so to send the nuke. I was a bit worried as my connection is dodgy at the best of times and there was a chance I’d lag out completely when sending the nuke, but to my great delight the nuke slotted itself within 50ms of the first noble, making the whole thing about 300ms long. It was at this stage that I noticed my horrible horrible mistake. The entire noble train may have been 300ms long, it may have been effectively unsnipable from a newb-on-the-rim point of view, but I was never going to take the village, as I had managed to send the noble train not as an unstoppable attack, but as support.”

Ouch. Nice noobiness =)

This Week’s Question:  What is your favorite unit and why?

PLEASE send me some answers people!!

We have a new  contest in the w19 community: Christmas Pics! Go make something pretty!

And on a final note, let’s all show Mr. Pam Nam, Drattuts himself a little love…he’s gone over a week on PnP without being banned! =o

World 11: Weekly W11 News

Bonjour W11! Since the declaration of RASP on the whole world already 44 players left this world (thx to MyPetWorm for this information from his updates in the Countdown w11 topic). This week RASP lost again a huge amount of points. For more information about RASPs side, we have an interview with RASPie Elmo. Also don’t forget to send me an entry for the challenge!

Power Rankings

There were some quite large changes on RASPs side, the other tribes did pretty well:

  • RASP loses 70 mil due to TSPU (splitting off from the RASPs family) and W.C. (which I put as individual tribe untill it is requested to add those points to RASP)
  • }DF{ drops points and becomes again a Minor Power

Player of the Week: Elmo

This week I had a nice chat with Elmo, the winner of the challenge last week.

Klouwe: Hello Elmo! You are well-known on the externals and are recently playing the goldcorp account. But I assume a long time ago you also had your own account? In which tribes have you been in W11?

Elmo: Well hello Klouwe! I started around the K86 region, and joined a tribe called KOTT that was located solely on the fact a real life friend was a baron in it. I then was rimmed by LoD-NW so ended up in K70, i was in some small noob tribes before joining RSK~S which i thought was the biggest tribe ever (1.2 million). Then i started talking to KOA Anubis who was leader of DMNT (CQB=D=) at that time so ended up moving there, after he persuaded me. Then i moved MAFIA until jen had me move back to DMNT (CQB=D=). I then quit w11 as i had got bored, untill KOA rang me up saying return because he had me an account, so i returned to DMNT – then called AoD. I then quit that account to take on a smaller account, coplaying with a certain noob Pinrage. We both quit, so i went to juveleo and played with him for a while, untill i left to take on an account in W14. I once again returned due to Anubis ringing me up asking if i was gunna return. I came back to play Shellman221 with him, before being offered Goldcorp account.

Klouwe: Wow, so you’ve been playing on many accounts here in W11! So currently you are playing on the goldcorp account. Does this frontline account suites your playing method well or do you prefer to play accounts with more safe backyard villages?

Elmo: Well frankly, im quite inactive at this moment in time, however i’ve just been in contact with a certain Mr. Pinrage so i have found myself a brand new coplayer, who will help me come over my current disadvantage. I’m at a total of 1+ villages so far during the war, that i believe considering i’m in a total of 4 k’s that have a front with enemys is an ok achievement. i have had 1 sitter so far taking two hours off me.

Klouwe: Very recently W.C. was founded. They are located very close to you… How are they related to RASP and are you going to join them?

Elmo: When i logged on today i found out about W.C, i thought about joining and talked to Pinrage about joining, i thought that it would be a good idea, thinking that they might be against RASP and would be another front to fight, letting me get more villages. I checked the diplomacy and saw they were *Allies*, so i’ve decided to think about asking for an invite and concentrate on making my account better and sorting out my incomings. Later today I heared that HCTP decided he wanted to form a tribe of hard ass fighters with some mates so he did

Klouwe: I heared an incident happened in RASP-T so a new tribe was established: TSPU. Now in the main forum there was a discussion about this new tribe. What is your opinion about them? Are they a part of RASP (=under RASPs command), neutral or RASPs enemy?

Elmo: Like i mentioned earlier, i have logged on today for the first time in 3/4 days. They are not on our ally list, nor NAP or Enimies list, they are going to be free food when we turn our attention to them, making them a good target, they might be thinking that they will be able to join W.C, but meh, i don’t know.

Klouwe: Since RASPs declaration on the world RASPs side dropped from 525 mil to 467 mil (still including the points of not4u and W.C.). I can understand that leaving dead weight behind is a good job but losing 58 mil (which is +/- 12% of the current size of the RASP F.) is not very good… Do you think RASP made a good call to kick all those inactives? In the end they’ll have to spend 5800 nobles to regain that 58mil…

Elmo: We have lost points, all tribes would lose points at the beginning of a war with the whole world, many tribes would fall in the first week against the world, especially if it was at this stage of the world. The players who have left don’t deserve to be in RASP, so there dead weight! W.C are still our points, so there still in the rasp, even if there in W.C.

Klouwe: Suppose you would have the power of the admins for 1 day, then what would you do? Also suppose nobody would ever know that you performed those actions…

Elmo: I would ban AJ and Headvoid so we could take on attero without those monsters there!

Klouwe: haha, well, I wish you and whole RASP big fun in the war! Thanks for the interview!

World 19 Blog and Weekly News!

Greetings w19ers! I hope you all are well.  First, a few items of business:

I’m really really sorry for the uber-delay in an update =s I have been very busy with holiday travel and school.  Anyway, I’m back and we should get back on a regular schedule now.  And I’m working on trying to format the blog in a nice eye-pleasing fashion.  Feedback is much appreciated.

Blog Banner Contest Update

I have only received ONE Banner entry! Don’t any of you want some free PP? I’m trying to drum up some friendly competition and give you all an opportunity to contribute to this blog.  A vote will give us some good fun but there’s not much to vote on with a single entry.  So please enter, or bully your friends who are good artists to enter!

Interviews Update

Quite a few people have expressed interest in seeing some player interviews.  Our first player interview is included in this week’s blog!  Most of you that hang out in skype chats and post on the public forums express interest in reading interviews from some of the lesser known players…help me figure out who they are lol! You all know the behind the scenes players in your tribes better than I do, so drop me a line so I can get in touch with them.

Current Wars Updates

Ok, so anybody can run stats on TWStats, and you can run any war’s stats a number of different ways that end up showing statistics that look really different =s I’d like to figure out a nice way to cover the current wars that is a little more interesting than the same old hack over and over.  Would you all like to see conquer maps?  Or do you have any better ideas? Let me know.

Power Rankings

Updated through 11/20/2009:

Major Powers: (10%+)

15 Ba al 5532 56.186.900 1.78%
16 TC 3138 32.781.604 1.01%

So if you look at these numbers, they are really quite interesting.  I counted families because they consider themselves as a cohesive group, and it does make the stats a little juicier.  Notice the only two major powers are our family tribes.  Of course, ASYLUM is hot on their heels and may have passed it in the few days since these stats were run =) But it raises some interesting points about w19.  I think the small tribe size has helped to keep these numbers so low–we are not even out of the top 20 before the power rankings decrease to less than 1% of the world’s villages.

And for good measure how about a quick look at the maps:

This Week’s Interview

With Bigfeet15, Duke of Care Bears

Q: How long have you been playing TW?

A: I have been playing off and on for about 2 years.

Q: Have you played or are you playing any other worlds? How would you compare them to w19?

A: I started on w23 where I met one of my best friends and mentor CZucchini we played a few odd worlds together where I learned the basics of the game. I then came to w19 under the name of karelll and together we built up a tribe from scratch.
Q: How did you get into a leadership role in your tribe?

A: I had a made a group of friends during my first go around at w19. That group of friends went to AD! and asked me to come back to the game to keep -=CB=- going. So they gave me the bigfeet account. And I have been leading CB since June.
Q: What is your favorite part about leading a tribe? Least favorite?

A: My favorite part is watching a good plan come together and looking at how far the tribe the tribe has come.  My least favorite part is if I ever count up how many hours I spend on here in a week. lol

Q: Many people feel like tribes on the rim are less skilled players than players in core tribes. How do you feel about these opinions?

A: I disagree with this. While the rim is not always as challenging as the core is, it doesn’t mean that players in general are less skilled then those in the core. I believe with hard work you can be just as good as the core

Q: Your tribe has been put in the spotlight recently with the OFA Family vs. ARSE war, particularly when Carebears officially broke off ties with ARSE and agreed to a ceasefire with OFA. Do you think this has changed the world 19 community’s perception of CB, and if so, in what way?

A: I believe for better or worse the world looks differently at us now. We used to have been thought of as a noob rim tribe. Weither you like us or hate us, I feel most people will agree that we better then people first gave us credit for. And I think it prove that w19 is only going to be seeing more of -=CB=- in the future.
Q: What do you think is the most important element of a successful tribe?

A: I believe a good active leadership and loyal members are the most important elements to a successful tribe.

Q: What do you think PnP and public forums add to and/or take away from the TribalWars experience?

A: I think the Public forum is a great way to get news and it enhances the game.

Question of the Week

I had an idea for a new little section to throw on the tail end of the blog each week…basically, I am going to throw out a question for you guys, and every week I’ll post the best/most amusing answers for everyone to see.  Feel free to contact me with any good questions you have in mind.  Here is this week’s question:

What is your worst noobish screwup?

(Come come don’t be shy now, we were all noobs once.  And if it’s really that horrifying, I’ll keep your submission anonymous upon request)

Until next time…
