I realized that by the time it had come to write this blog post that I had already written everything I wanted and needed to. In the past, I tended to make a lot of 3rd person jokes at myself as the leader of legion, so either you are relieved to hear that I will not/cannot make any more of them, or crushed that you wont get to enjoy my witty sense of humor.

The Last Legion has disbanded. A tribe that was once #1 on our server, and was until recently the oldest. But as the memory of legion passes into history, so too do we look into the future. To some, this is the passing of a legacy, to others, the collapse of a dying tribe, and to those who caused it, a sweet victory. But enough writing in 3rd person, yes, it was me who disbanded legion. Many people looked to legion to hold the front against the UA, and to those who counted on Legion to lead the banner may not yet understand why Legions Disbandment was necessary. Legion had in fact been fighting an intense war against the Unholy Alliance for approximately 8 1/2 months. During which time, they had lost several continents to defection and conquest. I refuse to allow this to be legions only place in history, the tribe I once know deserves better than this.
The following is a publication of the Notice of disbandment sent circular to legion on June 27th:
Greetings players of Legion,
This day has been long in coming, and I expect many people expected this sooner. As many people who have defected will tell you, our sense of brotherhood is not what it used to be. Even our founder, John Murray did not return to us because legion is not the same tribe he led so many months ago. Legion was once the greatest tribe that W18 had ever seen. But our time of glory has passed… All around us is the skeleton of an empire that dominated our server.
What is best for “legion” at this point may not also be best for all of its players collectively, the whole being worth less than the sum of its parts in this case. As leader of legion, I must try to do what is best for everyone in the tribe. At this point, it is self evident that our war against the Unholy Alliance is un-winnable. It would not be reasonable to ask anyone to stay in a tribe that cannot protect them, or die for an empty cause. Legion as a tribe will be sacrificed to ensure that its players may still have a future in this world.
This is a notice that Legion will be disbanding within the next few days. As a player, where you go from here will depend on geography and ideology. Our ally -MM- welcomes legion players, but as they have won the war, tribes in the Apoc family as considerable options dependent on your individual situation. At this point you are free to go wherever you like. Please mail me with your decision, or for suggestions and recommendations during this transition period, I will help where I can.
From this point until the tribe is disbanded, all forums will be viewable, (including our extensive archives) and all privileges will be reset. Legion will remain together until the majority of players leave to ensure that this transition is as smooth as possible, and so that legion players are not left defenseless without a tribe.
I would like to put legion to rest. Being the oldest tribe on this server, with an extensive history and one of the top OD scores, the natural thing would be to hold on as long as possible. But keeping legion in its current state is a disrespect to how legion once was. I would rather that it be remembered into the future as the old school kickass tribe we once were, even though none now remain who were there.
When selecting a new tribe, please do yourself a favor, and choose one that will respect you as a player, and as a person. But always remember where you came from…
