Due to my lack of time to formulate blogs, I will now release Monthlies, starting next weekend. These will be (hopefully) as good as the old weeklies and should hold us till summer, when the blog will hopefully expand again. I have been working on a large animation with a friend, so Adobe Flash has been cluttered with that among other things. My dayly schedule is thrown into chaos and I can’t find the four hours of straight work (or the focus) to formulate a good blog.

HOWEVER…

This does not mean i’m quitting, it just means i’m going to work at a gear that is more approachable with my wacky schedule. If someone with either skills in animation, time to gather information and resorces, or someone who is willing to take on a column for the blog approaches me, I may be able to produce bi-weeklies. Hopefully winter = more time on my hands, but you can never be too sure…

Hello fellow citizens of Tribalwarsland!

Well, it’s not the beginning of the end, it’s more of the end of the beginning of this war.  Now it will enter a more subtle phase, with scattered mass OPs and such spread throughout the durration. This is when the real test of strength and endurance begins and several world superpowers collide and come apart in a sort of dance of death.

Anyway, Flash practically drove me insane in the process of making this, so I will probably make a SECOND HALF of the film instead of just one part. Edit: I found the high-quality sound was making flash go crazy, so I changed it to high quality mp3 files, which flash LOVES. This week is John Williams week, featuring some of his most known compositions. If you can name all four pieces and/or which movies they are from and either mail the list to me or post it in the W9 Blog discussion forum, your name will be featured in next week’s blog. I also added some fun side-features and such so you don’t all get bored to death. The War Stats are MISSING. I will add them tomorrow. There are a few un-removable glitches that pop in and out, so don’t panic if it freezes on a blank page that says ‘nobling map’ in the top corner, just refresh the page.

In other news:

Half-Priced coins are to be implemented in the upcomming weeks (according to King Wenseslesas Shugarpuff of Tribalwarsland in a recent mass message to the world).

[IB] has sprung back and holds a fair-sized harvest on the nobling map.

DNS is continuing to run over RAW, however, according to the numbers, ~DNS~ has mysteriously lost over half their points in the last several weeks.

for the sake of simplicity, I will keep my regular dialogue short. There is one thing, and only one thing that has been uttered out of the many mouths of World 9 for the past week- war. As I last stated, DNS and the RAW family have declared war on each other, finalized in a statement on the forums by the duke of DNS. In this standard blog edition I bring forth into the light the events of this past week, mostly the war stats. Added onto new backgrounds is the newest edition of interviews, brand-new features, and the return of commentaries on the nobling map.

And, of course, the greatest improvement in the last two weeks, you now only have to click a button once to move, and the weeks’ theme for music is Lord of the Rings- showcasing several beautiful pieces by Howard Shore for the trilogy.

You heard me folks, DNS has declared war on RAW today, September 1st, at 7:53 GMT-5 time on the forums:

This brings forward an important issue I covered several days ago: What WOULD  happen if they warred? Well, the stats say DNS will sweep RAW clean off the map, but mabye our friends over in RAW will have some tricks.

Here are the official sides for this World War:

This war encompasses several of the top 10 tribes, thus making it a true World War. Be prepared for a week of blood and slaugter worse than any this world has ever seen, my fellow world 9ers, be prepared. The first stats have been a pretty clear sweep with DNS delivering some crushing blows. In only the first 24 hours, there were over 60 noblings (that was just after war was declared). More information on the war and some opinions (very slanted towards DNS) can be found at the thread above. I will release more info atleast twice a week from now on, to supliment the regular weekly flash video, although most estimates claim that RAW will be crushed within 7 days…

I’m not kidding when I say ‘it’s the silence before the storm’. RAW and DNS, the two largest tribes (with the two largest families) officially canceled their diplomatic agreement of ‘Alliance’ this week, and, as a result, the world is thrown into anarchy and fright. If these two mighty super-powers collide, this could be one of the largest wars in W9 history- and perhaps the most damaging one.

With all that aside for now, I would like to apologize again [for the 50th time]. It appears that the last four hours have flown by again. This time, I’m stuck in the middle of either banging my head on a wall from frustration or collapsing from exhaustion. Luckily, I managed to convince myself that I can add on what is missing tomorrow. I have added a basic ‘updates’ page on the video, so feel free to check out the updates. The one big thing you should know concerns the music and the ‘home’ buttons. You must click the home buttons twice, once to stop the music, and a second time to go to the home menu. Also, STATISTICS ARE MISSING FOR TONIGHT. I did not have enough time to publish up the statistics, so please wait for tomorrow evening (or morning).

World 9 News: A Changing War

Once again, thanks for visiting the blogs. To me, blogging is not just a privilege, but a job, and one that each blogger must work hard to achieve the highest quality work. I take this both literally, and physically. For the past two weeks, you (the viewers) have been treated to Flash movies instead of the standard. Last week, you got the special privilege of being able to travel through the post using buttons. This week, I have brought some new technology along- Drop-down menus. You will have complete control of the interactive video… more of what I think of as a PROGRAM! I just spent THREE HOURS on this build, using every ounce of knowledge on Flash, Drawing, Buttons, ActionScript (flash’s version of code), and whatever else was sitting in my head to make this.  Without further a due, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the greatest project I have ever put together in Flash to this date.

For the first time in TW Blog history, there will be a blog release WITHOUT any information in the release itself. If you watched my last release, I made a rather simple flash animation. This time, I really went overboard with graphics, sound, and quality of information.

Thanks everyone for waiting this long. Right now, it’s 2:00 in the morning and I just spent the last four hours working on the latest flash version of the blog. Hello everyone, I’m very sorry for the fact that I have been out for so long. Summer hit me like an atom bomb, I could barely find time to even use the computer with vacation and the sudden influx of time to relax. I’d like to take this time to do some updating on the world. I have, however, been rather active on the world with diplomacy and such. Sitting around in a tiny village is actually a surprisingly good idea. =D-N= and SOFt/RAW/EDGE appear to still be at it, constant skirmishes along the borderlines. To make everything better, I will be making short Flash Animation news casts about the world, uploading them, and posting them instead of these huge, chunky blocks of text and piles of pictures-don’t worry, you’ll still get your Nobling Map and TOP 5 Countdown, but this time, it will be in a easy to read and watch format.

Raw, as usual is hanging out in the middle. =D-N= has taken its usual position in the NW, with the small but growing tribe of NEUQC next-door. DNS is split by a huge rift of RAW, but takes a strong position taking up the south-center of the map, with [IB] holding the South East. A mixture holds the central East and South West. It appears everyone is content around the center, but some conflict in the Southern and Northern poles.

Well, once again I find World 9 quite boring. To be to the point, nothing has happened but more little noblings and battles. To be able to talk more about the miniscule happenings, I have begin to look once again to my favorite tools- TW Stats, the in-game rankings, and the Statistics page. So, I will (durring this next week) be recording the number of players every day and will come up with a graph, and estimate some cool facts for everyone to look at.

First off, the facts:

DNS retains its position as number 1, but RAW and =D-N= (who, by coincidence, are warring each other) are practically fighting over second runner, with RAW closing in on Number 1, only 1 mill points off, leaving =D-N=, F:M, and all the other tribes far behind them. Now, let’s see how the world is doing as a whole.

The first thing I thought when I read this was ‘Woah, who is spamming up the mailboxes?’ I mean, 2485 letters per player! We either have some insane diplomats or alot of curculars going around!

Also, I am rather disapointed that only about 2/3rds of the players are smart enough to get a paladin and a village like the one above would not be a very effective village, defencive OR offencive. What is kinda cool is that we have 7.6 billion residents between all our tiny kingdoms, also the fact that there are on average 240 villages per player. If I had that many, I would be insane without someone taking care of the people for me!

Now for your favorite part, the maps!

First off, the noble map. Here we can se alot of growth of =D-N= in the North-West and DNY in the center, with some growth of F:M in the south. RAW is strangely not on the map anywhere!

Well, this is interesting. OMG!!! RAW IS TAKING OVER!!! yeah… DNY seems content to keep to the middle, =D-N= in their corner, with likewise with FEMA and SOFt. This era is rather interesting afterall…
