A Red Dawn Rising

July 25, 2011 in World 042 News, World News

On the eve of battle, one is surrounded with the striking, the beautiful, the terrifying. The hearts of men and women crumble alike, for a sense of foreboding sets in. We wonder, what will tomorrow bring?

We dream of the blood, and the sounds of the screaming fallen, we smell the putrid and all encompassing odours of the dying, we see comrades rise and fall in their moments of greatness, we witness defeat, and embrace victory. We are a world at war, forever forging on. We are World 48, dreaming of the rising dawn.

Today, I am your storyteller, your wise man of myths and legends, come to tell you of battles past, with the glory of the triumphant, and the crushing reality the fallen have faced. Today, I give you the tales of our embattled world, from the David and Goliath conflicts of the 13th Apocalypse, The Ascendant Frontier, and Aequitas Veritas against their giant foes, the notorious maneater Piranha. I bring you the struggles of the Titans, those of The Wombles, Click Restart And Shake Head, and Piranha. I bring you the stories of these greats, from the past, to the present. I am your storyteller, so, shall we begin? Lets us start, with the tale of The Ascendant Frontier, in their fight against the giants of Piranha. Many an aeon ago, the fishies decided to develop a space program, and quickly found new territories:

Alas, their new found territories, soon came under attack, and The Ascendant Frontiers were formed. The Generals of ASCN formulated their strategies, and charged out, against an unknown foe.

VERSUS

The War has raged for many a cycle, with the famed man-eater fish losing their establishments in struggles that can only be deemed one sided.

The waters of the Piranha are slowly drying up, soon, their northern expanses, will be full of naught, but fishbones.

The Ascendant Frontier has proved its continued dominance against Piranha, wit a tale of one sided proportions. I regret that SergeantFraser refused an interview, I would much loved, to have been able to add his story to my collection. His story, is one of the small, against the giants. Though perhaps, after Piranha has fallen from the astral planes, we will see the true colours of this small but deadly tribe. Are they truly great? Or are they merely big fish, in a small pond? The fight against Piranha has proved their worth, but their options are limited, after all, they are firmly trapped between their ruthless allies to the east, and their failing allies to the west. From an outsiders perspective, I see only three worthwhile options. The first is to expand wholeheartedly to the rim, and run from any able war. The second is to jump their allies lines to invade the seas of the Piranha, in a continuing war. Thirdly, and the most likely in my view, will be to declare war on their western allies -XIII- and gain as much new territory as they can, eating their way through to gain access to Piranha.

Versus

The 13th Apocalypse? Have they failed twelve times before? Many an age has passed since a prophecy of the destruction of mankind. The likes of the Shinobi family and the Khaos family Succumbed to the Apocalypse, but it would seem, that -XIII- has bitten off far more than they can chew against the giant Piranhas to their south.

This past month however, has shown The 13th Apcalypse to be regaining some ground, well, in the stats at least. Does the territory gains show this also?

The Piranha are in a frenzy it seems, with continent 21 being naught but a feeding zone. They have made some fairly rapid expansion this last month, whilst -XIII- have resorted to attacking the fishies in areas behind their own lines, which is not a bad thing to do in itself. It is dangerous to have enemies in your own backyard after all.

Though the conquers are now starting to even out, the strategies are very different. Piranha seem to have heeded my early advice, with a push through the middle of continent 21, to gain a launching area that covers 90% of -XIII- territory. This strategy has paid off very well, with -XIII- being forced to retake what they can, and focus more on the the noble fountains in their territory.

-XIII- themselves look to be attempting to outflank Piranha in continent 21, but battles look hard fought. I wish you good luck, you are pulling back into the game, but maybe, it is too little, too late?

VERSUS

One of the younger wars of world 48, we all saw The Ascendant frontier declare war on the World of Elves. It appears that having succesfully wiped out the colonies of Piranha, ASCN looked to the rim for a new war. That was expected, at the least. Lets take a look at the opening stats:

Side 1:
Tribes: ASCN
Side 2:
Tribes: ElfW

Timeframe: Last week

Total conquers against opposite side:

Side 1: 65
Side 2: 2
Difference: 63

Definitely a one sided war at this point. One could easily say these are just declaration stats, though I am inclined to say otherwise. Past history of ASCN wars have always shown consistently high conquers. Some will say that those in ASCN are cowards for running to the rim, and not fighting a worthwhile opponent, however, I believe they are being smart. Lets see where these conquers have taken place:

Well, ASCN certainly havent mucked around this past week. Hitting continent 5 very hard, they have taken a handful of frontline villages.

ElfWorld is in a very unique position at the moment, but one that is never favourable under these circumstances. They are backed into the rim, which is a fantastic position to be in, alas, ASCN have the potential to take most, if not all of their territory, which begs a question.

What is the stance of Womble in this war? As I understand, Womble is allied with both tribes, but will they allow ASCN a complete victory over the allies to their rear? Will they stay neutral in this conflict? I personally believe they will take another action. From my own experience, I see Womble ending their relations with ElfW and eating as much of the tribe as possible, simply so as to stop ASCN from gaining too much territory in their backyard.

A victory for ASCN against ElFW will see the emergence of a new superpower, and in the future, it may well be the most powerful. If the war is finished quickly, ASCN will have to keep their momentum rolling, and there will only be two real options available. One is to war Womble, which will depend entirely on the stance Womble takes in relation to the ASCN/ElfW conflict. I doubt very much that the leaders of ASCN would be happy with another tribe jumping in on their war.

The second option is one I have gone over in previous blogs, and that is to war -XIII-. If a war were to take place today, between The Ascendant frontier and the 13th Apocalypse, the former tribe would certainly be victorious. However, if the war were to take place after the ElfW conflict, I fear that a battlehardened -XIII- (Should they continue their upwards trends against PIRANA) will be ready for them.

This last month has seen those of Aquitas Veritas, slaughtered to put bluntly. There really is not too much I can say about this, as the war has taken an unexpected turn in my opinion. Has Piranha finally regained its lustre? Has the giant awoken? They are winning in two of their major wars at the moment.

Looks like the only gains made against PIRANA this past month were retakes. On the other hand, PIRANA has devestated the control of AV in continent 82, and it will not take much more to push AV to collapse, another David and Goliath story here, though, I do not think AV has a pebble big enough to halt this giant. PIRANA has the momentum to wipe out the little guys.

VERSUS

One of the longest standing wars that world 48 has and has had to offer, a bitter battle where the gains are naught in the face of the numbers. This is a war that will be won by words. This is the CRASH versus Womble war.

Tribes: Womble
Side 2:
Tribes: CRASH

Timeframe: Last month

Total conquers against opposite side:

Side 1: 150
Side 2: 149
Difference: 1

With only a difference of 1 in these stats, it is very very easy to say that, as per usual, this war is going nowhere fast. One tribe will lead in one week, whilst another will lead the week after. This war will never really end, with both sides just as stubborn as the other. This is long past a war of fun, now, it is just a war to prove whos collective ego is bigger. Thought the stats are even, where have they taken place?

Though the stats are even, from my perspective, CRASH has done far better, this past month in the aspect of territory gain, whereas Womble has had the higher overall activity.

This may sound strange, but here is my reasoning:

CRASH has increased its dominance in continent 46 by a large amount, with very little visible attempts at a mounted defence. However, CRASH has made little or no gains in other frontline continents, which suggests a severe inactivity of other frontline members.

Womble on the other hand, has not made any significant gains in any one continent, but have made reasonable gains in several frontline continents. This gives an inkling, that Womble have far more active warring members than CRASH, and may continue to lead the war in coming months, unless something comes along to re-invigorate CRASH.

VERSUS

Last but not least, the PIRANA v Womble War. Though this war has been going for some time, there are periods of massive gains, and then, of little. This past month has been a period of massive gains. For Womble:

Side 1:
Tribes: Womble
Side 2:
Tribes: PIRANA, -DIE-

Timeframe: Last month

Total conquers against opposite side:

Side 1: 148
Side 2: 8
Difference: 140

A very clear walkover for Womble, there have not even been many retake attempts. I think Pirana have a very unique strategy when it comes to Womble. Feed them until they cannot eat anymore?

The only real tactic being used here against PIRANA is brute force, and the funny thing is, it seems to be working. A continent once under the control of CRASH, since handed to PIRANA on a silver platter, and now taken by force by Womble. I pity the players who reside in this continent, it is a warzone in every sense of the word.

That concludes this blog issue. I hope you have enjoyed it, there are many things I wished to do, but simply put, I have been delayed for three weeks, and did not wish to delay another.

Hopefully, in the 8th issue, I will have animated conquer maps working, and a few other trial features.

As always, leave your comments here or in the blog thread on our forum, but be sure, the thread will be locked should there be any ‘misdemeanors’.
