This week, we are featuring music from the composer Harry Gregson-Williams from the movie ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian’ to finish off with our ‘Sounds of Great Fantasies’ series (blogs 1-10). Now, we move on into the waters of the unknown in our next series of blogs, volume 2, which will begin production and release in 2010! This current blog is not the end, nor the begining. It is a good example of how far the blogs have come, as well as how far our world has come. Since I took up to making these blogs last winter, there have been many great wars, mighty players, and glorious empires that have risen… and fallen.
I would also like to take this time to wish everyone a happy New Years’ and I hope everyone who had Christmas had a great one and everyone who didn’t had a wonderful day. ![]()

Fist of all, I APOLOGIZE FOR THE HUGE DELAY IN UPDATES! Here is a nice recent map for you all:

(the black and pink tribes can be ignored… they will either go barb or merge into other tribes)
Now, down to business…
We have some tribe shake-ups for the first time in well over 6 months here in world 7. A chunk equaling what was initially nearly half of PTT’s tribal body split off under pressure of war to bring back the extinct VF tribe from the grave, far away from the -WE- warfront. They initially tried to secure an official NAP with their (former?) enemy -WE- but were refused such an official agreement. As it stands currently, the bulk of their tribe is far enough away from the -WE- front that FxF will remain their only real battle partner for a while. During VF’s first month of existence their overall impact on the world has been slim to none, though, as the following stats indicate:
Total conquers against opposite side in the mini-VF wars:
Side 1 (VF): 0
Side 2 (-WE-): 31
Difference: 31
Side 1 (VF): 89
Side 2 (FxF): 155
Difference: 66
This split was performed largely in order for this “active” section of PTT players to break off from the -WE- war in order to win the war vs. FxF, who they deem to be their only real/main enemy in this world. Unfortunately, FxF has not been crumbling to the newly reformed VF, and seem to be slightly winning–and also winning against the remaining PTT tribe, might I add (70 to 1 this month).
On the plus side for the main PTT crew that didn’t run away from the fight, they did experience a nice successful ennoblement spree on a -WE- frontline account since the last blog update. This was a long time ago now, but it should be noted that PTT ripped up 2krazykills of -WE-, taking over 200 villages from him while he was AWOL and sitterless over a 2 week period. -WE- *finally* got control of the situation though, and during that month, the -WE- vs. PTT war was pretty even in terms of war ennoblements. That period is one which -WE- refers to as “The Dark Ages,” and what PTT now remembers as “The Glory Days.”
But now all seems to be back to normal: PTT’s latest operations have all failed, and -WE- has been gaining ground in several regions–from k55 & 65 all the way into k66,77, and elsewhere. The most noteable major takedowns were Mario2007, a formerly esteemed PTT pr0, who was all but rimmed from k55 (over 200 vills lost) and the long-time PTT duke Irispeace, whom -WE- absolutely rocked. All her villages from frontline k65 to backline k66 & 77 are falling at the hands of -WE- ennoblers. This operation is young and still ongoing, but already nearly 400 villages have been taken from her, with minimal takeback efforts by the remnants of PTT.
On a side note, TATEC seems to STILL be alive and kicking. In the wake of the destruction that has been wrought on PTT, TATEC picked up a few new refugee recruits and now appear to be the most active group of the original PTT alliance. Despite this, their ennoblement stats vs. -WE- this month are less than impressive:
Total conquers against opposite side:
Side 1 (TATEC): 63
Side 2 (-WE-): 293
Difference: 230
In summation, I cannot resist posting these overall stats from the past 3 months:

Greetings w19ers! It’s getting close to the end of the year, and fun things like holiday time with the family and attack breaks are coming up around the corner! Things have been a little bit on the quiet side in the w19 community, but we should have a nice update for this week. On with it then.
In spite of my begging, only one of you lazy louts have submitted a blog banner. So our dear Mark-CFC wins the prize (see his banner featured above)! Boo on you w19 for not giving Mark any healthy competition!
Maps (Sorry kids I’m going to do Power Rankings every other week):

This week we have an interview with Graand, diplomat of ORIGIN, the recently formed tribe in the NW area of w19.
Q: Hi Graand. Coming from the eastern half of w19, I have to admit I don’t really know who you are. So introduce yourself to everyone =)
A: Well, my name is Graham, I am 42, married with teenage children and live in Australia, I love all strategic based games (whether it be online or not) and I have been playing this game for around 2.5 years now starting in W5 and have played most worlds.
Q: Have you played or are you playing any other worlds? How would you compare them to w19?
A: W19 is my main world as I gave up most of the others as my online times reduced and I did join w42 but am thinking of leaving, as I only play there because of some friends from W11 and 14 are in the same tribe. W19 is clearly my dominant World ever and will continue to be until I am rimmed and once that happens…I will start again, lol.
Q: How did you get into a leadership role in your tribe?
A: I have been everything in a tribe from S***kicker to Duke and once I display the skills I have gathered over my time here, it is clear I know what I’m doing regarding tribe structure and day to day runnings.
Q: Tell us the scoop on Origins…why have you and the other members of Origins split from OFA/AFO?
A: Well sadly enough our true leader returned to claim his rightful place in the tribe (OFA) and there were a few there that didn’t want it that way….so ORIGIN was formed, which is actually (mostly) the Original members that helped form OFA.
Q: Did you leave on friendly terms?
A: Some have asked “why” but most understand the change and we are still talking to this day. People realize it is just a game and that individual choice should be made without ill feelings, resentment or persecution.
Q: With this split, the map in the NW quadrant of the world looks a bit messy. What are your thoughts on this?
A: LOL, sorry but it was reasonably messy anyway, just all a nice shade of blue/light blue, funny thing about this game is activity….telling who is actually still playing the game and who is not, depends on the way an account is sat (sorry for the off topic).
Q: Are you retaining OFA relations with ARSE, or are you separating Origins diplomatically as well?
A: One thing I would like to say is, ORIGIN will NOT have any family “connections”, we aim to be a tribe of 40 actives and feel we will be so soon, any diplomacy with this “new” tribe will be strictly of our choosing. Any allies (or enemies) of OFA – AFO, will not necessarily be ours.
Q: Was the formation of Origins a planned move or a more spur-of-the-moment decision?
A: Definitely a spur of the moment thing, as we hoped for a calm solution to our internal problems, but alas….didn’t come.
Q: What is your favorite aspect of TW? Least favorite?
A: Favorite aspect: is definitely the people I have met (and get to meet) as without them, it would just be a ps3 game and (of course) I love the strategic side of the game.
Least fav: is the childish behavior some people have towards others, because they didn’t get their own way, or had a bad day at school/work etc… solution: don’t come online and give someone S*** ring your ex and give them grief instead, or your boss, even the prime minister?
Q: Any other comments in general?
A: I would love to see this game go “to the next level” and get some serious “fighting” animation going, would enhance the game incredibly if you could see your troops fighting rather than waiting for the time to count down (to an attack) and then open a report? I would also like to say thank you for you allowing me to express myself to the TW community.
Featured Answer:
“I was once asked to sit an account on some long forgotten world, when a friend who had started late was nobling his first village on the rim. He had 3 nobles and he’d already lowered the loyalty of the village enough that the 3 would take it on the next run, but he couldn’t be online to send them. Now, he asked me to do it, which I was happy to do, and to time his nuke in front of it as he thought the guy was gonna get support from his tribe. When the time came, I sent the nobles out, and then waiting the 30 mins or so to send the nuke. I was a bit worried as my connection is dodgy at the best of times and there was a chance I’d lag out completely when sending the nuke, but to my great delight the nuke slotted itself within 50ms of the first noble, making the whole thing about 300ms long. It was at this stage that I noticed my horrible horrible mistake. The entire noble train may have been 300ms long, it may have been effectively unsnipable from a newb-on-the-rim point of view, but I was never going to take the village, as I had managed to send the noble train not as an unstoppable attack, but as support.”
Ouch. Nice noobiness =)
PLEASE send me some answers people!!
We have a new contest in the w19 community: Christmas Pics! Go make something pretty!
And on a final note, let’s all show Mr. Pam Nam, Drattuts himself a little love…he’s gone over a week on PnP without being banned! =o

Bonjour W11! Since the declaration of RASP on the whole world already 44 players left this world (thx to MyPetWorm for this information from his updates in the Countdown w11 topic). This week RASP lost again a huge amount of points. For more information about RASPs side, we have an interview with RASPie Elmo. Also don’t forget to send me an entry for the challenge!

This week I had a nice chat with Elmo, the winner of the challenge last week.
Klouwe: Hello Elmo! You are well-known on the externals and are recently playing the goldcorp account. But I assume a long time ago you also had your own account? In which tribes have you been in W11?
Elmo: Well hello Klouwe! I started around the K86 region, and joined a tribe called KOTT that was located solely on the fact a real life friend was a baron in it. I then was rimmed by LoD-NW so ended up in K70, i was in some small noob tribes before joining RSK~S which i thought was the biggest tribe ever (1.2 million). Then i started talking to KOA Anubis who was leader of DMNT (CQB=D=) at that time so ended up moving there, after he persuaded me. Then i moved MAFIA until jen had me move back to DMNT (CQB=D=). I then quit w11 as i had got bored, untill KOA rang me up saying return because he had me an account, so i returned to DMNT – then called AoD. I then quit that account to take on a smaller account, coplaying with a certain noob Pinrage. We both quit, so i went to juveleo and played with him for a while, untill i left to take on an account in W14. I once again returned due to Anubis ringing me up asking if i was gunna return. I came back to play Shellman221 with him, before being offered Goldcorp account.
Klouwe: Wow, so you’ve been playing on many accounts here in W11! So currently you are playing on the goldcorp account. Does this frontline account suites your playing method well or do you prefer to play accounts with more safe backyard villages?
Elmo: Well frankly, im quite inactive at this moment in time, however i’ve just been in contact with a certain Mr. Pinrage so i have found myself a brand new coplayer, who will help me come over my current disadvantage. I’m at a total of 1+ villages so far during the war, that i believe considering i’m in a total of 4 k’s that have a front with enemys is an ok achievement. i have had 1 sitter so far taking two hours off me.
Klouwe: Very recently W.C. was founded. They are located very close to you… How are they related to RASP and are you going to join them?
Elmo: When i logged on today i found out about W.C, i thought about joining and talked to Pinrage about joining, i thought that it would be a good idea, thinking that they might be against RASP and would be another front to fight, letting me get more villages. I checked the diplomacy and saw they were *Allies*, so i’ve decided to think about asking for an invite and concentrate on making my account better and sorting out my incomings. Later today I heared that HCTP decided he wanted to form a tribe of hard ass fighters with some mates so he did
Klouwe: I heared an incident happened in RASP-T so a new tribe was established: TSPU. Now in the main forum there was a discussion about this new tribe. What is your opinion about them? Are they a part of RASP (=under RASPs command), neutral or RASPs enemy?
Elmo: Like i mentioned earlier, i have logged on today for the first time in 3/4 days. They are not on our ally list, nor NAP or Enimies list, they are going to be free food when we turn our attention to them, making them a good target, they might be thinking that they will be able to join W.C, but meh, i don’t know.
Klouwe: Since RASPs declaration on the world RASPs side dropped from 525 mil to 467 mil (still including the points of not4u and W.C.). I can understand that leaving dead weight behind is a good job but losing 58 mil (which is +/- 12% of the current size of the RASP F.) is not very good… Do you think RASP made a good call to kick all those inactives? In the end they’ll have to spend 5800 nobles to regain that 58mil…
Elmo: We have lost points, all tribes would lose points at the beginning of a war with the whole world, many tribes would fall in the first week against the world, especially if it was at this stage of the world. The players who have left don’t deserve to be in RASP, so there dead weight! W.C are still our points, so there still in the rasp, even if there in W.C.
Klouwe: Suppose you would have the power of the admins for 1 day, then what would you do? Also suppose nobody would ever know that you performed those actions…
Elmo: I would ban AJ and Headvoid so we could take on attero without those monsters there!
Klouwe: haha, well, I wish you and whole RASP big fun in the war! Thanks for the interview!

Greetings w19ers! I hope you all are well. First, a few items of business:
I’m really really sorry for the uber-delay in an update =s I have been very busy with holiday travel and school. Anyway, I’m back and we should get back on a regular schedule now. And I’m working on trying to format the blog in a nice eye-pleasing fashion. Feedback is much appreciated.
I have only received ONE Banner entry! Don’t any of you want some free PP? I’m trying to drum up some friendly competition and give you all an opportunity to contribute to this blog. A vote will give us some good fun but there’s not much to vote on with a single entry. So please enter, or bully your friends who are good artists to enter!
Quite a few people have expressed interest in seeing some player interviews. Our first player interview is included in this week’s blog! Most of you that hang out in skype chats and post on the public forums express interest in reading interviews from some of the lesser known players…help me figure out who they are lol! You all know the behind the scenes players in your tribes better than I do, so drop me a line so I can get in touch with them.
Ok, so anybody can run stats on TWStats, and you can run any war’s stats a number of different ways that end up showing statistics that look really different =s I’d like to figure out a nice way to cover the current wars that is a little more interesting than the same old hack over and over. Would you all like to see conquer maps? Or do you have any better ideas? Let me know.

16 TC 3138 32.781.604 1.01%
So if you look at these numbers, they are really quite interesting. I counted families because they consider themselves as a cohesive group, and it does make the stats a little juicier. Notice the only two major powers are our family tribes. Of course, ASYLUM is hot on their heels and may have passed it in the few days since these stats were run =) But it raises some interesting points about w19. I think the small tribe size has helped to keep these numbers so low–we are not even out of the top 20 before the power rankings decrease to less than 1% of the world’s villages.
And for good measure how about a quick look at the maps:
With Bigfeet15, Duke of Care Bears
Q: How long have you been playing TW?
A: I have been playing off and on for about 2 years.
Q: Have you played or are you playing any other worlds? How would you compare them to w19?
A: I started on w23 where I met one of my best friends and mentor CZucchini we played a few odd worlds together where I learned the basics of the game. I then came to w19 under the name of karelll and together we built up a tribe from scratch.
Q: How did you get into a leadership role in your tribe?
A: I had a made a group of friends during my first go around at w19. That group of friends went to AD! and asked me to come back to the game to keep -=CB=- going. So they gave me the bigfeet account. And I have been leading CB since June.
Q: What is your favorite part about leading a tribe? Least favorite?
A: My favorite part is watching a good plan come together and looking at how far the tribe the tribe has come. My least favorite part is if I ever count up how many hours I spend on here in a week. lol
Q: Many people feel like tribes on the rim are less skilled players than players in core tribes. How do you feel about these opinions?
A: I disagree with this. While the rim is not always as challenging as the core is, it doesn’t mean that players in general are less skilled then those in the core. I believe with hard work you can be just as good as the core
Q: Your tribe has been put in the spotlight recently with the OFA Family vs. ARSE war, particularly when Carebears officially broke off ties with ARSE and agreed to a ceasefire with OFA. Do you think this has changed the world 19 community’s perception of CB, and if so, in what way?
A: I believe for better or worse the world looks differently at us now. We used to have been thought of as a noob rim tribe. Weither you like us or hate us, I feel most people will agree that we better then people first gave us credit for. And I think it prove that w19 is only going to be seeing more of -=CB=- in the future.
Q: What do you think is the most important element of a successful tribe?
A: I believe a good active leadership and loyal members are the most important elements to a successful tribe.
Q: What do you think PnP and public forums add to and/or take away from the TribalWars experience?
A: I think the Public forum is a great way to get news and it enhances the game.
I had an idea for a new little section to throw on the tail end of the blog each week…basically, I am going to throw out a question for you guys, and every week I’ll post the best/most amusing answers for everyone to see. Feel free to contact me with any good questions you have in mind. Here is this week’s question:
(Come come don’t be shy now, we were all noobs once. And if it’s really that horrifying, I’ll keep your submission anonymous upon request)
Until next time…

Moehahahahaha W11! This is Klouwe with the Weekly W11 News – The World’s Only Reliable News! A lot happened this week. After the declaration of RASP on all tribes of W11, -THB- merged into Legend. This week we also have a special interview with PolarSeal (n°1 player of the world), who is also probably the biggest frontline player in the world war. We also have the fancy graphs with the results of the Power Rankings of november. Be sure to check the challenge. The winner of next week will be granted an interview in one of the upcoming blogs. Have a nice read!

I totally agree with HTCP:
You really cant judge how a war is going in the first month. One side gets the jump on the other. Both sides need to organize and get in to a rhythm. Other points, front lines need to be created it just goes with any war. After all that gets taken care of then the stats will really show how both sides are doing. This war will be long. And the victor will not be seen for some time.
Therefore I won’t post stats in this blog. The Power Rankings can be a good indication of who is doing well in the beginning of the war.

I made some fancy graphs of the results of November. All tribes who were a major or/and mid-sized power during november are included in the graph. In the first one you can see the difference between the points of begin and end november. In the second graph you can see how tribes evoluated in growth during november. It appears that all tribes had some troubles during november to keep their points.

This week we have arranged a nice interview with PolarSeal, n°1 of the world.
Klouwe: You are n°1 point player in the world. Congratulations! What are the best hints for other players who want to achieve that spot in newer worlds?
PolarSeal: Thank you. It would seem that the most important thing to doing well is to put the time in. (about four months into this world, I was unable to put in any time during the next 3 months because my best friend of 3 and a half years and wife of two and a half days past away The player that was sitting my account at that time worked his way up to number 1, but he did nothing with my account except put me in Plague. I was actually surprised the account was still there. It had however dropped almost a 1000 places in the ranking.) However, staying respectful of neighboring villages is beneficial. I have noticed that those that bully their neighbors early in the game may run players off, but they soon find themselves spread thin and fighting everyone else.
During the beginning of the protected time focusing on building up resources, without any non-production time gives a boost. If the account is watched constantly, the warehouse does not need to be built up until it is too small to handle the resources needed to build a needed building. Either way, if it remains below the 2000 resource level, then all the resources can be hidden from the “bullies.” Enough time should be left before the protected time expires to build up the hiding place to a sufficient level to hide all resources being produced. If your irritating neighbors get nothing when they attack, they will loose interest, and if they don’t that is fine too because they are wasting time attacking you instead of your other neighbor, and since they are getting nothing they will grow slower. Once the hiding place is maxed out, and the resources are as high as possible with the largest warehouse that can have all resources hidden, then the headquarters should be raised to the highest level for that warehouse, then after all of this a level one barracks and level one smithy make sense. The last two being built so that the wall can then be built up the highest level the warehouse allows—this will allow you to kill enemy troops before you have built a single troop. Build up to the point where you can build a single scout, or 15 in worlds where less scouts would die, then send that scout out to find an abandon village that will provide refugee travel time. After finding villages that will provide varying amounts of refuge time, then finally non-scout troops can be trained safely. Build up the troops while you are around, and then sand them to farm a village as far away as half the time you need to be away from your computer. When your army is lager enough to adequately defend itself or wipe out the enemy with minimal loses then put them into play. Doing this you are quite large before you lose a single resource or troop.
I know there are those that disagree with this approach, which is great because that makes it work better.
Klouwe: At the end of June MCD fell apart. The ex-MCD-players were taken in by the other tribes. Why did you choose to join ATTERO? Or was it in a certain way decided who had to join which tribe?
PolarSeal: I was most interested in joining RT?, because I had learned to respect dlgirl in our previous dealings, and she seemed to had many of the same views toward the in tribe forum and game as I. However, I thought that the size of my tribe might make her tribe an unfair target, so I deferred. Many of those that I had worked with for over a year had quit MCD and joined Attero, so I figured if Attero wanted me then they would be willing the invite me before I quit MCD—I was not willing to quit my tribe and gravel for an invitation—pride, I guess. I worked diligently to get where I was, and if they wanted my membership, then we could both make sacrifices. They were willing to invite me without my quitting MCD and waiting the three days, so after the invite was sent, I sadly left MCD, and became a dedicated Attero member.
Klouwe: Your profile says that you are Personal Ally of both players of minor power RT?. Why are those players (dlgirl and JesusZback) not in ATTERO?
PolarSeal: I do not believe dlgirl has never asked to be a member, and I like that she just wants to enjoy playing in this world without all the politics. I believe JesusZback was not ranked highly enough when he was interested in Attero, and he followed my suggestion to join RT?. He likes the tribe, and I have no doubt that I would have enjoyed RT? As well.
Klouwe: Very recently RASP declared on all tribes of W11. Hereby they’ve made a clear point about going for world domination without further diplomacy with other tribes. Do you think they’ll make it until the end and win this world?
PolarSeal: I have many game and world friends in {RASP} and thus I do not like this new development. MCD found that this approach was unwise, and though {RASP} is larger and in a better location than MCD, they may find the same. Also, it puts a lot of pressure on their players to be on-line all the time. Even the Roman Empire in all their glory found that fighting on too many fronts is, at best, difficult. I think {RASP} been successful thus far because they have some excellent and dedicated players, and because they have had the support of many excellent players in other tribes, they will now be without that invaluable support. In fact, they apparently want to confront that support. In the end, only time will tell if they will make it, but I have no doubt that they have been preparing for this for quite some time. I would wish them well but they have chosen to be on the opposite side of the fence.
Klouwe: You are mainly located in K64, which makes you a very big frontline player. Do you think (with the new war) that you’ll be able to keep your n°1-spot in this world?
PolarSeal: I have not become number one because I desired to be number one, but because I put in an immense amount of time and effort to do my best. I believe it unwise to take what I cannot hope to hold without a respectable struggle. Therefore if I get attacked, I will put up the best fight possible. Not to keep my rank, but because I worked hard to build up, and cannot see reason in letting an aggressor getting it without significantly more effort. Beside it is the obligation of the members of any tribe to do their best to keep an aggressor from decreasing the value of the tribe.
Klouwe: If you die and rebirth gives you the chance to return to earth as an animal. Which animal would you choose?
PolarSeal: Though my beliefs do not provide for this possibility, my pet bird is amazing. She can and does talk a lot, so being her friend would be cool.
Klouwe: I wish you much luck on the frontline PolarSeal!

Thank you all for reading, and I hope you are excited for next week’s edition!
Suggestions or extra information is very appreciated and always welcome in my in game mailbox or forum mailbox.
Since I have moved down to possible monthlies, I have been able to focus my attention on some new features and background art. I hope this blog shows that I’m not here to be a slacker or a quitter.
It’s a hard thing, to be forced into being not able to provide what you promised, but time always seems to run too fast whenever I am around…
We’ve had some new wars come up (=D-N= declared on DNS earlier in November, and some treaties have been signed with RAW… no one really knows where all this is going to end up…) and some changes (=D.N= disbanded; INVITE, [IB], AND [IB]NX have semi-merged into a single tribe, SETO).
Moving on, here’s the blog:
